"Tourist for a Day" This project was developed in 2005 together with the Centro Ecológico Akumal, a non-governmental organization with which we collaborate in several conservation programs. We worked with elementary and high school children from the town of Akumal to raise awareness on environmental issues related with sustainable tourism. Aventuras Mayas gave the children conferences in their classrooms and then took the kids to our Mayan Adventure excursion to discover more about the fantastic ecosystems of the region and to learn how to be responsible tourists. Total participants: 193 students.
