Environmental Contests and Awards In 2006, Aventuras Mayas participated in collaboration with the local government in a contest named "The Best Waste Basket", to encourage the separation and recycling of the waste generated at the Juan Rulfo High School, located in Playa del Carmen. The winning team was awarded with a visit to the excursion Mayan Adventure, where they witnessed how recycling and organic composts help to protect the beautiful cenotes and coral reefs of the Mexican Caribbean. Total participants: 320 students.
